If you’re planning to stay in Nara for a few days, it is important to pick a good hotel on which you can rest after visiting the temples and shrines in the city. Directions: From JR Nara Station; head out of the central exit onto Sanjo Dori and towards Nara Park. Head to Ichi-No-Torii. Go up the steps just to the right of the torii and the path will lead you to Edosan.
3. Kasuga Hotel
The advantage of staying at Kasuga Hotel is their impressive public baths. The rooms are uniquely Japanese complete with tatami mats, which gives a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Kaiseki meals are available for those who want to eat authentic Japanese cooking. You can also visit the “Gift Shop” if you’re looking for souvenirs to give to your family and friends back home.
Directions: A 5 minute taxi ride from JR Nara Train Station and a 5 minute walk from Kofuku-ji Temple.
4. Super Hotel Lohas JR Nara-eki
Super Hotel Lohas is just a minute away from the east exit of JR Nara Station. The rooms are clean and reasonably sized and you can visit the onsen baths as soon as you deposit your luggage.
No keys are required to enter the rooms because they have their very own “password system” which is unique among hotels in Nara. A breakfast buffet is also served everyday for the guests staying at the hotel.

5. Ryokan Matsumae
Ryokan Matsumae is an authentic Japanese Ryokan that is just a few minutes walk away from JR Kintetsu Station and Kofukuji Temple. The rooms are simple with their own toilets but no private bath. Free calligraphy and kyogen lessons are also available on a regular basis. Even if everything in this ryokan seems basic, you will still enjoy a warm and relaxing stay at Ryokan Matsumae.

6. Nara Hotel
The Hotel was founded in 1909 and serves as the State Guesthouse in Nara. Many important people and celebrities has stayed in this hotel over the years because of their excellent service, spacious and very comfortable rooms. With its close proximity to the attractions of the city and Namaguchi, everything you need is within walking distance.

7. Wakasa Bettei

9. Hotel Nikko Nara
This hotel is conveniently connected to JR Nara Station and offers great accommodations for business and leisure travelers. The staff are friendly and the service is great. If you need anything else, you can drop by the Supermarket which you can find on the same building. For most people, this is the most convenient hotel for those who are carrying many luggage’s for their trip.
Directions: Only a minute walk from JR Nara Station-West Exit.
You can avail the hotel’s free shuttle service after you get off at Kintetsu Nara Station. The open air hot spring baths that provides great views of Nara, is perfect for those who had a long and tiring journey.
The hotel being located at Mount Wakakusa allows you to see the scenic views of the city especially during the night. The kaiseki meals that are served in Mikasa are quite good and the service of the staff is great.
