Favorite Mochi Ice Cream
Simple Mochi Ice cream
Simple Mochi Icecream: Ingredients: Shiratamako – 3/4 cup or 100 gm; water – 3/4 cup or 180 ml; granulated sugar – 1/4 cup or 55 gm; Potato/Corn Starch – 1/2 cup or 100 gm; Any Ice cream.
Directions: Place a scoop of ice cream each in cupcake liners and freeze them for at least 2 hours. This is to make really shaped ice cream balls to be kept inside the mochi.
Once the balls are ready, you can start the process. Mix Sugar and shiratamako in a bowl. Add water and mix it well. Now, wrap the bowl leaving some space and microwave it for just a minute.
It should be put in high heat as 1200 w. Then take it out and stir with a wet rubber spatula. Repeat the heating for another one minute. Stit it again after taking out and do the final heating for just 30 seconds.
Now, the mochi looks translucent and it is ready to make the mochi ice creams. Sprinkle excess of corn starch on the parchment paper and spread the cooked mochi on it.
Sprinkle some starch on its top as well and spread it with your hands or roller. Transfer the mocha to a baking sheet and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
Once it is set, use a cookie cutter to make fine circles of mochi. Now, wrap the frozen ice cream with the mocha ice cream wrapper and put inside the cupcake liners to get the shape.
Once they are ready, keep them in a refrigerator until served.
Green Tea Mochi Ice cream
Green Tea Mochi Ice cream: Ingredients: 10 small scoops vanilla ice cream; 1/2 cup sweet rice flour; 1/2 cup cold water; 1 pinch salt; 2 tablespoons white sugar; 1 teaspoon green tea powder (matcha); 1 tablespoon cornstarch, or as needed;
Use a egg carton or cupcake containers to freeze ice creams balls. Mix sugar, rice flour, and salt in a microwave-safe bowl.
Add sugar and the green tea powder to the mixture. Cover it with. wrap leaving some gap and heat it. Repeat the process until the dough becomes sticky.
Now wrap the ice creams with at the mochi wraps and the delicious green tea mochi ice creams are ready!
Home-made flavored Mochi Ice cream
Home-made flavored Mochi Ice cream: Ingredients: 3/4 cup sweet glutinous rice flour; 1/4 cup sugar; 3/4 cup water; Potato starch or cornstarch for dusting; strawberry ice cream; Vanilla ice cream; chocolate ice cream; vanilla ice cream;
Directions: Prepare the Mochi wrap by heating the rice flour, salt and sugar mixture in a microwave. Take a scoop of refrigerated face cream flavor and wrap it inside the cooked mochi.
Repeat the process for other ice cream flavors. Home-made flavored Mochi ice creams are ready in minutes for you to taste!
Kona Coffee Mochi Ice Cream
Kona Coffee Mochi Ice Cream: Ingredients: 10 small scoops of ice creams of your choice; /2 cup sweet rice flour; 1/2 cup cold water; 1 pinch salt; 2 tablespoons white sugar; 1 teaspoon Kona coffee;
Directions: Mix all the ingredients except the ice cream and heat it to prepare the mochi wrap. Do not forget to add the Kona coffee powder to the mixture.
It gives an extraordinary flavor to the final ice cream.
