The company (Suntory Whisky) has announced its newest spirit known as Toki.
This whisky has been launched exclusively in the United States and in Canada at a suggested retail price of $39.99 per 750-ml. bottle, which is a blend of whiskies from the House of the Suntory’s Yamazaki Distillery, Hakushu Distillery and Chita Distillery.
When the Suntory whisky Toki first launched at the price $45, it was that time a bit of a stretch because of the hot market it was for Japanese whisky
It was crafted traditionally according to the company’s art of blending the philosophy and its expression features the characteristics of a Suntory blend, about which the company says: balance, harmony and oneness.
Shinji Fukuyo, who was the House of the Suntory’s 4th Chief Blender, was selected singular Hakushu American white oak cask malt whisky, with its mellowness, freshness and spectacular green apple notes which is considered as one of the two pillars of the blend.
In that selection, Shinji just selected the Chita heavy-type grain whisky as the 2nd pillar of the blend, by adding a clean taste with notes of the sweetness and vanilla.
It smells like green apple, basil and honey; on the palate it seems, green grapes, grapefruit, thyme and peppermint.
The company reports its finish is spicy with a hint of vanilla oak and sweet, white pepper and ginger.
Suntory Whisky is a of course a distillery that is been in market since 1899 and also most of the whisky fans have known about them, by seeing as they are one of the only Japanese whisky brands which is available in the United States.
Since, it is a huge brand and Suntory Holdings owns the familiar names like Laphroaig, Jim Beam, Sauza and many others; as they are enormous.
The Japanese whisky line-up includes the names like Hakushu, Yamazaki and Hibiki.
It is considered that the Yamazaki whisky was named the best whisky in the world by Jim Murray in his Whisky Bible in the year of 2015 which is specifically, the Yamazaki Single Malt Sherry Cask in the year of 2013 when they got the chops.
So what is Toki? It means the “time” in Japanese language and it is another product which enters into the blend category for joining Hibiki.
Yamazaki and Hakushu are the single malts from those of the respective distilleries.
The company also owns Chita which is a single grain whisky, but no one can find that in the United States.
However, all these three are blended to make the Toki.
However the current Suntory toki price in US and Canada is $39.99 for 750-ml. bottle.
With the upper beat music, vivid lights, Japanese themed food and the Taiko drumming the venues were already transformed into modern Japanese themed bars to serve this amazing and refreshing whisky.
