Who is Tika Sumpter’s boyfriend?
I’ll introduce her lover and her lovelife.
Euphemia “Tika” Sumpter (Queens, June 20, 1980) is an American actress, model and singer. She owes her popularity to the CW’s series Gossip Girl, where she played Raina Thorpe in 2010.
After some supporting roles in various films, she later played Angela Payton in the comedies Ride Along (2014) and Ride Along 2 (2016), Yvonne Fair in the biopic Get On Up (2014), and Michelle Robinson Obama in the romantic comedy-drama Southside with You (2016).
Tika recently opened up about his relationship with the father of her new-born daughter Ella-Loren, actor Nicholas James.
The couple have been dating for two years and half now and both play in the series The Haves and the Have Nots. Beside the acting career, the mysterious Nick is an adventurer, surfer and lifestyler and Tika is crazy for him.
The stunning actress said beautiful things about his gorgeous man and why she wanted to keep the pregnancy under wraps, didn’t want to hear, ‘Who’s the dad? Are you with the dad?’.
“Social media can be harsh, and I’m a mama bear, protective of my family. So that’s why I waited to tell people, including some friends.”My friends weren’t mad at me. They said, ‘You did it the way you wanted to do it. You’re an inspiration.’”
Sumpter has said in the past that she had a little crush for Drake and during an interview with Necole Bitchie, she claimed that the rapper and her went on date before he made the leap in his music career.
She confirmed that was a real date: “I have a slight crush on Drake. I’ve known him for a really long time. I used to host this show on Nickelodeon on Noggin and it was called “Best Friends Date” and he was on “Degrassi” at the time.”
“He was our celebrity set-up, so we set him up on dates and we had dinner. He’s such a sweet person. I haven’t seen him in a really long time. He was genuinely a sweet guy.”
The beautiful model had a crush for Drake in the past, but her ideal man can only be her fianceè Nicholas James.
Infact Tika said beautiful words about him, telling how they met on one of her project’s set: “We do work together. I saw him on set and I was like, “Who is that?” He made me laugh so hard. He’s so funny and somehow we ended up kissing”.
Furthermore, her motherhood hasn’t been hard at all because Nick is an amazing father: she says also “Nicholas is a great dad and he is always present.”
Opinion on Marriage
In September 2016 Sumpter told admitted that despite the pregnancy she didn’t feel the necessity to get married, “One of the first questions my mother asked when she found out I was pregnant was ‘Are you going to get married?’ I’d love to, but maybe in a year or so.”
“I’ve been with my boyfriend for more than a year and a half. Our relationship is not dependent on a ring. I love him to death, and he loves me to death, and that’s all that matters to me.”
But the lucky man got the jump on her and proposed her during the Christmas.
Ideal Dating Situation
During an interview more than seven years ago, a single young Tika said about dating, “You know dating… I haven’t been dating… (Laughs) but if there is a situation like dinner or something I prefer the person to call me rather than texting me, I think it’s kind of weird.”
“I think texting is so convenient. Sometimes you don’t even want to pick up the phone, sometimes [I like] a quick text, because it’s easy”, she added “[…] I just can’t deal with the normal entertainment stuff so I’d rather not, but if it’s a smart dude that’s on his grind and about something, I’m definitely into making that happen or at least trying it out.”
“The thing is, I don’t have time for BS. I really don’t. Games are not my thing at all. I’d rather just be honest with each other and open. If you like me, you like me, say it. Let’s stop the games, people! There’s not enough time in life for it.”
Fans were generally very suprised when the gorgeous dark-skinned actress revealed the identity of her love in 2016 and at the same time they felt joyful about the handsome couple.
Other followers were speculating a lot about his ethnicity and speaking out on social media about their shock that she got pregnant by a Caucasian co-star (Nick playes Official Justin in the series Haves And Have Nots).
That’s why Tika hid for long his identity, because followers and fans had the same reactions she expected they would have.
