Early life and before debut
The year is 2013 and things are quickly heating up for young June, as he has been asked to appear as young Michael Jackson in the hit series “Star King”. At that tender age, things could go berserk for many, but not for this young superstar.
He kept his nerves made his first public debut and that is when things started rolling up in the right direction for him, he could go on and debut in yet another SGS survival show KPop Star.
Known to be “young Michael Jordan”
It was because of his exceptional performance as a young Michael Jordan that got the attention of YG Entertainment, he was immediately snapped up by the group and became their trainee in April 2012 and joined the likes of BI and Bobby in the group, Team B.
Though he was in the reality TV series, “Win: Who is Next” in 2013 as a member of Team B which inadvertently lost, they were given a chance to reclaim their position as the best pop group in Korea the following year through the reality TV show “Mix & Match”.
Unfortunately for young June, he didn’t make the cut in the original Team B; however, the management had other plans.
Junhoe competed for the remaining slots in Team B with three other contestants, Jung Chanwoo, Yang Hongseok, Jung Jinhyeong and two original members of Team B.
He was the first to be confirmed as the 4th member when the winners were finally revealed.
When iKon made their official debut on October 1st, it was an early Christmas gift for many and in particular him. In their debut album, he was actively involved in the composition and production of their hit song “Rhythm Ta”.
This song by itself brought the group immense fame and accolades, topping charts domestically for 4 weeks running and when they actually performed on October 3rd at the Seoul Olympic Gymnasium, it all went on overdrive.

Junhoe’s idol status has brought him fame and status plus respect amongst his peers. He appeared in the music video “Ringa Linga” in Taeyang Rise album and also with fellow group mate Anthem in their debut album “Welcome Back”.
In the world of moving pictures, he has been active since 2009 when he featured in his debut show “Star Kings” in 2009 and “KPop Stars” in 2013, all those initial shows were broadcasted on SBS channel.
He however made a mark in “Win: Who is Next” and “Mix & Match” for which he made cumulative appearance of 20 episodes through the year 2013-2014. These shows were aired in Mnet and were streamed live for everyone to watch provided you had a Naver’s’ V app on your tablet, phone or computer.
