Best10 Luxury Hotel Bars in Makati For Start A Fancy Night

Makati is a major center of entertainment, finance, and cultural activity in the Philippines. It’s a bustling metropolis and major shopping hub.

If you go there just to shop, maybe you’ll want to stay at a hotel that offers good drinks. Here is a list of the 10 best hotel bars in Makati, using information found on TripAdvisor.

Fairmont Makati

The Fairmont Makati has a poolside bar on the fourth floor in the open air, and a lobby bar. Adjacent to the hotel is Raffles, a bar and restaurant with excellent food, good cocktails, and a happy hour.

One guest visited both the lobby bar and the Raffles bar on a Sunday night, and found a lot less activity than he expected. But that just makes for a more relaxing environment.

Makati Shangri-La Manila

The Makati Shangri-La Manila hotel has a bar that one guest noted seemed to have a lot of what he called, “bar girls.”

He went on to elaborate that they were prostitutes, all looking for business, and he found them so abundant that when meeting a new woman in the bar, his chances of finding her to be a prostitute were very high.

Discovery Primea

Discovery Primea is a very tall building with a bar that one guest noted featured a bartender who didn’t have the recipe for a certain drink memorized. But that’s not to say they didn’t know how to prepare any drinks at all.

Another guest visited on a business trip and found his company’s debit card being billed up front was apparently the cause behind the hotel removing the contents of the mini-bar in his room.

So there are some possible hotel bar issues here, but they may be rare events.

The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences

The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences features an in-room mini-bar with a good quantity of items, including beers, soda, and bottled water.

One guest said at least some of their mini-bar items were complimentary, while another said to expect a deposit up front for the mini-bar.

The Picasso Boutique also has an actual bar, serving good drinks and food, and offering decent prices. The bar staff are also said to be very good.

The Peninsula Manila

The Peninsula Manila has a poolside bar, which one guest was disappointed to find closes at 10pm. But the hotel also has “The Bar,” which is open until 2am.

It has a checkered floor design and leather chairs, and the guests have marveled at its atmosphere in their reviews. The Peninsula Manila’s website has a gorgeous picture of it. So if you find the pool bar closed, try The Bar, where smoking is allowed.

Hotel Durban

The Hotel Durban had a promotion one guest noted was in effect as of September 2015, where the hotel’s bar would serve a free cocktail to each guest who visited it between 7 and 9pm.

Another reviewer mentioned the promotion seemed to still be in effect as of early 2016. One guest noted their favorite part of the hotel was the bar, because of how classy and conservative it felt.

New World Makati Hotel

The New World Makati Hotel has two bars, both of which are on the ground floor. At least one of them was renovated in late 2015.

A guest noted the bar near the lobby was a great place to relax, and security was tight. One of the two bars features singing lounge entertainment at night.

Holiday Inn & Suites Makati

The Holiday Inn & Suites Makati has a bar on the roof, with good drinks and friendly service. It is near the pool and gym. There is also a lobby bar.

One guest had a drink there, ordered a refill, and was told they were all out. So he ordered a different drink, right off the menu, and was told it would take a little while to get some.

He later got a call to his room offering the drink as room service, but he decided against it. Maybe they ran out, and had someone quickly buy some more.

Makati Diamond Residences

The Makati Diamond Residences has a bar on the ground floor near the lobby. One guest found it was not busy at all, which from a certain perspective could be a good thing.

However, he added that it seemed a little small, as if it had been an addition to the hotel, instead of having been included in the original design.

But the hotel does have a restaurant that’s open at all hours, day and night, which also functions as a bar. So if you want more bar space, that may be the better option.
